Something a little different for today’s #AUW. We’re often asked about how to deal with the isolation factor working from home, and whether office space is the answer.
And is it? Maybe, if you find yourself bailing up the postie for a chat, or spending most of your day in your local café to avoid the solitude of your home office. Branching out and joining a creative hub could be the greatest thing you ever did for your business.
Some do it to have a professional address to impress clients, others want the banter to get their juices flowing – or perhaps you feel a communal space may provide the impetus to wear something other than bunny slippers and PJs while writing. And if you think it’ll cost you an arm and a leg, remember it’s tax deductible – and just like that first shared house costs are shared by all inhabitants.
So if you’re climbing the walls at the sound of silence and want that going-to-work experience without the nightmare meetings and lascivious boss, it might be time to consider finding a room with a view (that’s away from home!)
Do you pay for office space away from your home office? We’d love to hear what motivated you to make that decision and how you’re finding it in terms of productivity.
