We’re Australia’s friendliest freelance writing community. The place for you to get advice, share contacts, find writing jobs and connect with people who genuinely want to see you succeed. When you find the RIGHT freelance space, you…
It’s freelancing,
but not as you know it
- stop going it alone, thanks to your crackin’ cheer squad
- learn to deal confidently with the trickiest freelance situations
- leapfrog forward, make more money and attract better clients

Hi! I’m Rachel. I started my business in 2001 after two redundancies in a year, and I’ve never gone back to the 9-5. As a freelancer, I’ve been at mags that folded. I’ve lost retainer gigs and anchor clients. But I’ve kept going by chasing new leads, upskilling and staying as visible as I could.
Over the years, I’ve watched hundreds of freelancers thrive – and many crash and burn. Those who make it work know community is everything. Learning and adapting is non-negotiable. And while picking up a gig off a jobs board is great, building systems for landing your own clients is even better. I created Rachel’s List to help you navigate and nail #freelancelife – and as a working freelancer myself, I’m in the trenches with you.
Quality freelance writing jobs and gigs you won’t see on generic jobs boards. Plus, overflow work shared in our FB group. Here’s a snapshot of recent postings:
- Editor for education mag
- B2B tech content writer
- Web copywriter for short project
- Need local news reporters
- Pitches from hospitality writers
- PR + social media manager wanted
- Copywriter to help with messaging
- Real estate writer wanted
- Urgent editing gig, weekend work
- Editor for private capital publisher
- Call-out for food story pitches
- Articles for optometry magazine
- Content writers, caravan title
- Copywriter for luxury retail brand
