Get out of your home office for a non-stuffy, non-corporate co-working day! This is our third in-person co-working day in Sydney – expect a warm, welcoming environment, stints of focused work time, a valuable expert session and the chance to connect with other freelancers.

This is a slightly smaller space, so we only have 10 3 spots available. Tickets are selling fast, so grab yours this way.

The space

For this co-working day, we’ll be based at a private room inside the beautiful new Rose Read Bookshop in Summer Hill. The room will be set up with tables and chairs, there’s a lovely window for natural light, access to a loo and a sunny outdoor terrace.

For your info…

  • We like quirky, and we choose spaces with character over slick, corporate venues. That may mean working in close quarters with other people. Great for meeting new freelancers, right?
  • There’s two-hour parking at the supermarket just across the street and the Summer Hill train station is a five minute walk.
  • We’ll have access to WIFI and power, but we suggest charging your phone and laptop before you arrive.
  • Rose Read Bookshop has kindly offered all co-workers 10% off any book purchases on the day.

The highlight

All our co-working days have a one-hour workshop and this time around, we’re stoked to have former Writers agency owner, Beyond Solo author and brand storyteller Sara Howard coming for the day. She’s tested what works (and what doesn’t) when it comes to bundling up services, providing tiered pricing, and simplifying client choice. Here’s a bit about her workshop:

Package it up
Turn your services into ready-to-buy offers.

Are you selling your skills one scoping call and one quote at a time? There is an easier way – and it will speed up client budget sign off, stop you reinventing processes with every project, and result in higher value, more referrable, more repeatable work.

We’re talking about productising your services. In this creative and hands-on one hour workshop, we’ll take your best-selling, most enjoyable, and most underpriced work, and turn it into named offers with a fixed scope and a fixed price.

You’ll walk away with:

  • A clear map of every service you currently offer (including the free ones you might not be charging for)
  • Three prioritised product ideas
  • A draft client offer, pricing, and next steps to bring it to market
  • A signed copy of Sara Howard’s book, Beyond Solo (a comprehensive guide to all the different paths you can take to grow your freelance or consultancy business)

The feedback

Both our previous co-working days sold out, and got fantastic feedback.

Attendees really loved:

  • getting out of the house and talking shop with other freelancers – because as we all know, sometimes that’s hard to do with your nearest and dearest!
  • the attendee list they received before the event – which has names, LinkedIn links and a brief line about why that person is coming along. Makes it super easy to connect beforehand.
  • the afternoon tea, which is a great chance to eat yummy cake and chat with anyone you may have missed during the day!
